Welcome To My First Blog Post
Hey there, welcome to Reinventing Moments! This is my little corner of the internet where I share my photos and experiences through my blog. Whether you stumbled upon me by accident or you intentionally sought me out, I’m thrilled to have you here. My name is David, and I’m a hobbyist photographer who loves capturing life’s simple moments through my camera lens.
I believe that each moment is unique and special, and I strive to capture that essence through my photographs. Whether it’s a family vacation, a day at the park with friends, or just a lazy day at home with my dogs, I want to remember those moments forever. I hope that through my blog, I can inspire others to pursue their own creative endeavors and find joy in capturing the beauty of life’s simple moments.Since buying my first real camera, a Canon EOS Rebel t3i, for a college photography class in 2011, my love for capturing memories has only intensified. Except for that one photography class, which barely scratched the surface, I am mostly self-taught. In addition to YouTube tutorials, I’ve also learned a lot from other photo blogs and by learning from others. Of course, there have been a lot of mistakes along the way too!
Reinventing Moments is a lifestyle photography blog where I share my experiences and connect with fellow photography enthusiasts who share my passion for capturing life’s precious moments. Through my blog, I hope to inspire others to pursue their creative endeavors and find joy in capturing the beauty of life’s simple moments.
The progression of my photography should be easy to see by looking at the photos I’ve included on my site, especially when comparing the ones from 2015 to more recent ones. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m excited to take you along as I share my experiences.
My Photography Journey
I married my husband, Gio, in 2015 and started living together in sunny Southern California. Along with our three adorable dogs, we set out to document the beauty of our simple lives through a camera lens. This marked the beginning of Reinventing Moments and the moment my passion for lifestyle photography blossomed.
Throughout the years, I’ve delved into various types of lifestyle photography, including family photos, travel photos, urban and street photos, pet photos, and landscape photos. Each photography genre offers a unique perspective on life, and I find immense joy in capturing these fleeting moments to cherish forever. So naturally, the journey hasn’t been without its challenges, but the valuable lessons I’ve learned along the way have helped me grow as a photographer.
Opening up and sharing my work with the world hasn’t always been easy, as there’s always the lingering fear of rejection or criticism. But I’m determined to continue sharing my passion and inspiring others. Through this blog, I hope to share my photos and experiences, encourage others to follow their dreams and find the courage to showcase their work to the world.
One of the most significant milestones in my photography journey has been my involvement in a photography group at the VA Loma Linda Hospital as part of my mental health treatment. This enriching experience has taught me so much about photography, and I’ve finally mustered the confidence to take my camera off the “auto” setting. Grasping concepts like focal points, aperture, and depth of field has dramatically improved the quality of my images.
But there’s more!
Over the past year, I’ve uploaded some of my best photos for sale on Alamy’s stock photography site, hoping to strike gold and sell one. Well, guess what? It finally happened! I recently received an email informing me that someone purchased one of my photos! Knowing someone admired my image enough to pay for it is truly indescribable.
As I continue exploring the lifestyle photography world, I’m excited to see what lies ahead. There’s something magical about capturing the essence of everyday moments, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with all of you. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out, I hope my journey inspires you to follow your dreams, embrace your creativity, and share your work with others.
